The Frontenacs held the 10th overall pick and selected six-foot-seven, 220-pound forward Logan Prud’homme in the first round on Friday night. Prud’homme was celebrated by family and friends at Slush Puppie Place. He mentioned he was thrilled to hear his name called by Hall of Famer and Kingston legend Doug Gilmour. Last season, Prud’homme scored 44 goals and added 52 assists in 69 games with Upper Canada College U16 AAA. He says he brings not just size but also a knack for scoring. Frontenacs’ Head Scout Aaron Van Leusen believes Prud’homme has great potential and they were fortunate to snag him at the 10th spot. Prud’homme joins a young Frontenacs team that is among the youngest in the Ontario Hockey League. Van Leusen stated he will mesh well with players like Aleks Kulemin, Matthew Henderson, and Gavin Betts next season. The live draft continues on Saturday with Rounds 2 to 15 taking place at Slush Puppie Place. Story by Ken Hashizume
