A 64-year-old man has tragically lost his life after a motorcycle collided with an SUV in Hamilton, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.
OPP stated in a news release that emergency services were called to the intersection of Highway 6 and Book Road East just after 6 p. m. on Thursday.
“The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” the Friday release states.
The police have not released the identity of the deceased individual.
The cause of the accident remains unknown, and no charges have been filed yet.
As of Friday, Highway 6 was closed in both directions between Highway 403 and Airport Road West while investigators from OPP’s Highway Safety Division’s Burlington detachment continued their inquiry. Book Road East was also shut down between Fiddlers Green Road and Southcote Road.
