Hamilton Fire Department Collecting Donations for Northern Ontario Wildfire Relief

The Hamilton Fire Department is partnering with local social services to gather donations for those in northern Ontario affected by the current wildfires.

They are collaborating with the Hamilton Regional Indian Centre and the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto to collect essential items for First Nations communities.

Residents and community members are encouraged to drop off their donations at any of the designated fire stations during the specified times.

Participating Fire Stations and their drop-off times:

From July 22 – 29, until 5:00 p. m.: Station 1 – 35 John St. North Station 2 – 1400 Upper Wellington Street Station 3 – 965 Garth Street Station 4 – 729 Upper Sherman Avenue Station 5 – 1227 Stone Church Rd. They’re looking for donations of boiled water, non-perishable food, baby formula, baby food, toiletries and personal hygiene items, pet food and supplies, feminine hygiene products, and new clothing of all sizes.

To ensure health and safety as well as respect for recipients, only new, unopened items that aren’t expired will be accepted.

The collected donations will be securely stored before being sent to the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto for organization and distribution to evacuees receiving support within other communities.

You can also drop off donations at the Hamilton Regional Indian Centre located at34 Ottawa St. North.
