In the early hours of Saturday, July 11th, 2026, just before 03:00am, Hamilton Police received a call about a ‘Stabbing’ in the area of Fennel Avenue East and East 26th Street. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a woman with minor stab wounds. She has since been treated and is currently in stable condition. The male suspect was apprehended without any issues.
A 41-year-old man from Hamilton has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Arson.
During the investigation, a section of Fennell Avenue East (from East 28th to Upper Sherman Avenue) was closed to allow Forensic Investigators to examine the scene. This part of the road is expected to reopen within the next hour.
