The storms brought strong winds, heavy rain, and hail, causing widespread flooding throughout southern Ontario. There were reports of downed trees, power outages affecting around 65,000 residents, and numerous vehicle rescues as local drainage systems couldn’t handle the heavy rainfall. Toronto police mentioned they received about 300 calls regarding downed power lines within the last day.
Severe weather alerts were issued during this time, including tornado warnings. The intense rainfall overwhelmed infrastructure and showed just how susceptible urban areas can be to sudden flooding.
