GUELPH – The Ontario government is giving the City of Guelph $3.69 million through the second phase of the Building Faster Fund, as the city has met at least 80 percent of its required housing goals.
According to a release, Guelph started construction on 1,279 new homes in 2024, surpassing more than 85 percent of its housing target for that year.
Additionally, the city is set to receive over $2 million from the Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program, which will help build nearly 2,000 new homes.
Launched in August 2023, the Building Faster Fund is a three-year program worth $1.2 billion aimed at helping municipalities speed up their approval processes and construct more homes quickly.
