Due to several weather-related delays, all lanes heading towards Niagara on the Burlington Skyway Bridge will be shut down this Friday night, according to Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation.

The rehabilitation work was postponed last week and again last night because of weather conditions.

Now, all lanes will be closed from 10 p. m. tonight until 6 a. m. Saturday morning.

Additionally, for three consecutive nights starting April 19, two lanes on the bridge and just north of it will be closed from 11 p. m. to 6 a. m.

The Ministry of Transportation mentions that these closures depend on the weather and drivers will see warning signs. An alternate route through the QEW Niagara‑bound collectors to Eastport Drive will still be open.

As of Friday afternoon, Environment Canada predicts rain in Burlington, Ont., on Saturday with a 40 percent chance of rain on Sunday.
