Guramrit Sidhu, 62, from Brampton, Ontario, Canada, has admitted guilt in a deal with Los Angeles prosecutors for running a complex system of truck drivers transporting drugs from L. A. to Canada.

To transport large amounts of cocaine and fentanyl from stash houses around Los Angeles into his home country of Canada, accused drug lord Ryan Wedding, a large former Olympian known as “the Giant” in crime circles worldwide, heavily depended on an intricate network of Punjabi truck drivers.

On Thursday, federal prosecutors revealed that the head of this trucking operation, Guramrit Sidhu, 62, a crime figure from Brampton known as “King,” pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise. This plea marks another step in the ongoing legal actions against high-ranking members of Wedding’s alleged extensive drug empire.

His childhood friend and advisor, Andrew Clark, who was captured by Mexican military forces during a dramatic raid in the fall of 2024, has also agreed to cooperate against his fellow criminal Wedding according to court documents.

Sidhu’s guilty plea comes as federal authorities in Los Angeles have filed two sweeping indictments against Ryan Wedding regarding what they allege is his control over a violent international criminal organization that required him to partner with some of the world’s most infamous underworld figures. They argue that witness safety must be prioritized at all costs.

Among the charges against Wedding – who was apprehended earlier this year in Mexico City as one of the FBI’s Most Wanted criminals with a $15 million bounty on him – is allegedly ordering the murder of a witness against him named Jonathan Acebedo Garcia. Garcia was tracked down and killed by hitmen in January 2025 after being spotted recently in a Canadian reggaeton star’s music video. This led Wedding to offer $5 million for anyone who could eliminate him.

According to federal prosecutors, there were many willing participants including several women close to Wedding such as a madam from Mexico City and other associates like a Florida sex worker along with both his wife and girlfriend.

Sidhu’s detailed network began falling apart back in 2022 when Garcia started cooperating with federal investigators looking into cases linked to Wedding’s drug empire. That informant arranged meetings between himself and Sidhu’s drivers at stash houses throughout L. A., utilizing a coded system based on serial numbers found on U. S. currency according to an indictment.

In his admission of guilt, Sidhu acknowledged leading “an organization responsible for trafficking drugs” into Canada which prosecutors say included eight separate shipments within “a single month in 2022,” totaling about 523 kilograms of methamphetamine and 347 kilograms of cocaine seized by law enforcement valued at roughly $17 million.
