19-Year-Old Arrested for Attempted Murder After Shooting

BRAMPTON – Police in Peel Region report that a man has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged carjacking and shooting incident on Monday. They are currently searching for a second suspect.

Authorities state they received calls about the situation near Central Park Drive and Glenvale Boulevard in Brampton, Ont., shortly before noon. Two suspects are said to have attempted to carjack a vehicle occupied by two individuals.

During the event, both victims were shot; one sustained non-life-threatening injuries while the other is reported to be in critical condition.

According to police, one suspect was apprehended and found with a loaded illegal firearm.

A 19-year-old man from Brampton now faces several charges, including attempted murder with a firearm and aggravated assault.

Officers continue their search for the second suspect, asking anyone with information to reach out to investigators.
