On Thursday, we can expect snowfall in the Greater Toronto Area and parts of southern Ontario, with amounts ranging from 5 cm to as much as 25 cm.

Environment Canada has put out a yellow snowfall warning for much of southern Ontario. In Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Hamilton, Oshawa, and Niagara Falls, snow is likely in the morning along with a 40 percent chance of flurries later in the day.

Winds are predicted to gust up to 50 km/h. The GTA should see between 5 cm and 10 cm of snow, but some areas could receive up to 20 cm, according to weather reports.

The high temperature will be around -9 C in Mississauga; however, it may feel closer to -20 C in the morning and -14 C by afternoon due to wind chill.

Travel conditions might be tough, potentially having a “significant impact on rush hour traffic.”

“Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Allow extra time for travel,” Environment Canada advised.

As Thursday night approaches, more snow may fall with a 30 percent chance of flurries in Mississauga. Winds at about 20 km/h should ease off toward midnight.

The low temperature is expected around -12 C in Mississauga but could feel like -19 C because of the wind chill factor.

Looking into Friday’s forecast, we anticipate periods of snow in Mississauga with daytime highs reaching -2 C and a 60 percent chance of flurries at night when temperatures drop to around -3 C.
