BRAMPTON. – The City of Brampton has chosen the Richmond Hill-based Frontier Group of Companies to be the construction manager for the new Embleton Community Centre, a significant project with an estimated budget of $148 million.
City officials made this announcement on Tuesday, marking an important step for the facility located at 200 Lionhead Golf Club Rd. in southwest Brampton.
Created by Perkins& Will Architects, the roughly 175,000-sq. ft. center is set to serve as a key gathering place for the expanding community near Mississauga Road and Queen Street West.
The city’s highlights from the 2025 budget reveal that $148 million has been earmarked for this initiative, which is part of Brampton’s larger “Recreation Revitalized” effort. The city confirmed that design work and approvals are currently in progress, with major construction expected to start in spring 2026.
“Embleton Community Centre is a major investment in the future of southwest Brampton,” said Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown in a statement. “With the project progressing and essential milestones reached, we are getting closer to providing a modern, inclusive facility.”
The project will follow a construction management approach. As construction manager, Frontier Group of Companies will oversee coordination to ensure efficient scheduling for this complex build.
Once finished, this year-round facility will include:
An aquatics centre and fitness facilities; Community gathering spaces and multi-use rooms; A new Brampton Library branch; and Possible space for a future child care facility.
“Our team, along with the construction manager, is fully dedicated to bringing the Embleton Community Centre to life for our community,” stated Regional Coun. Paul Vicente, chair of the city’s public works and engineering section. “Their coordinated efforts in planning and managing construction will guarantee that this facility meets high standards.”
This project comes as Brampton deals with an active construction schedule. There are over 80 parks and recreation projects happening across the city right now, including both the Chris Gibson Recreation Centre and Cassie Campbell Field Hockey Multisport Training Dome.

While construction progresses, residents in Ward 6 can continue utilizing services at nearby facilities such as Cassie Campbell Community Centre and Susan Fennell Sportsplex.
Regional Coun. Rowena Santos emphasized how impactful this investment will be socially.
“Recreation brings families together and supports healthier, more connected neighbourhoods,” Santos noted. “These milestones show ongoing progress towards creating a space where families can feel welcome while staying active.”
