Nottawasaga OPP says officers got a report about a suspect vehicle on Victoria Street just before 4 p. m. on May 9

Provincial police report that a tow truck driver from New Tecumseth is facing an impaired driving charge after a recent traffic complaint in Alliston.

Nottawasaga OPP states that officers received word of a suspected impaired driver behind the wheel of a tow truck on Victoria Street shortly before 4 p. m. on May 9.

Police say they found the vehicle within minutes after it parked in a nearby lot and started an impaired driving investigation after talking to the driver.

A 43-year-old resident of New Tecumseth, whose name hasn’t been released, has been charged with operation while impaired (blood-alcohol concentration over 80).

The individual was released and is set to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford at a later date.

Authorities indicate that the accused also received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension and the tow truck was impounded for seven days.
