Crash Involving OPP Cruiser and Dump Truck on Highway 400

According to OPP, a dump truck was cut off by another vehicle and ended up colliding with a police cruiser against the wall on Highway 400 northbound, just north of County Road 88 in Bradford West Gwillimbury, on Friday, May 1, 2026. Image-OPP/X

An unmarked Ontario Provincial Police cruiser that was responding to an emergency call got into an accident with a dump truck on Highway 400 northbound in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

This incident occurred late Friday morning. OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt reported that the truck was cut off by another vehicle before crashing into the cruiser against the wall.

Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, and there’s no information yet about any charges being filed.

Highway 400 northbound reopened at around 2:30 p. m.
