On Monday, severe thunderstorms swept through parts of Muskoka, resulting in a tragic incident where a 19-year-old man was killed by a falling tree.

The Huntsville OPP reported that they responded to Clearwater Lake Road in Port Sydney, where the young man was taken to the hospital and later pronounced dead.

Police also mentioned receiving multiple reports of downed trees and power lines scattered throughout the area.

Hydro One indicated that there was significant damage, including broken poles as well as trees and limbs that had fallen onto wires. Additional crews have been dispatched to assist with restoration efforts in the most affected areas.
