With summer just around the corner, festival season is kicking off in the Greater Toronto Area.

As we start filling our schedules with events, one of Canada’s biggest and most awaited cultural festivals is definitely worth marking down.

Taste of Asia is back for three days in Markham, from June 26 to 28, with no entry fee.

Located on Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue East, this festival started over twenty years ago in 2003 and attracts more than 180,000 attendees each year.

Visitors can look forward to over 100 food vendors serving up authentic Asian street food, desserts, and drinks, as well as many local businesses to check out.

The event will also feature live performances including music, dance, martial arts, and cultural shows across multiple stages. Plus, there’ll be a fun carnival packed with family-friendly activities.

“Whether you’re exploring delicious street food, enjoying live cultural performances, or discovering local vendors and creators, Taste of Asia offers something for everyone – and invites you to be part of a celebration that’s about culture, connection, and community,” say the organizers.

“The Taste of Asia Festival is more than a celebration – it’s a platform to support, connect, and inspire.”

More Festivals Happening in June Around the GTA

As we look forward to June festivities ahead, Taste of Asia isn’t the only exciting event happening in the Greater Toronto Area.

Luminato Festival runs for 26 days from June 3 to 28 and will once again transform Toronto with over 50 free and ticketed art experiences along with more than 140 performances at various locations.

This year’s theme is “PLAY,” bringing together both Canadian and international artists for an engaging experience.

Pride Toronto-Canada’s largest festival and the second largest Pride event globally-runs throughout June too. The main festival weekend happens from June 25 to 28 in Toronto’s Church-Wellesley Village area.

If you love food events, Taco Fest takes place in Mississauga on June 27 and 28 at Port Credit Memorial Park located at 40 Lakeshore Rd. E.

This festival features 17 restaurants from all around the Greater Toronto Area.

After its time in Mississauga, Taco Fest will also head over to Fort York in Toronto from Aug.7 to9 with more than40 vendors present. Fort York is located at250 Fort York Blvd., and tickets for both celebrations can be bought online.
