Durham Regional Police are investigating after 34-year-old Latonya Anderson was discovered deceased at a home in Whitby on Saturday night.
Officers responded to the residence following a report from a man who came to a Whitby police station “to speak with officers,” according to a news release issued by Durham police on Sunday. After their discussion, officers went to the house, found Anderson unresponsive, and took the 33-year-old man into custody.
He has been charged with second degree murder.
While police did not clearly indicate that domestic violence was involved in her death, they did mention in their press release that November is domestic violence awareness month and urged anyone affected to contact law enforcement.
