Peel Regional Police (PRP) are investigating three tow-truck fires that happened overnight in Brampton as arson. The incidents occurred within a half-hour of each other early Tuesday morning.

The first emergency call came in at around 1:10 a. m. to Eagle Plains Drive and Airport Road, where a tow truck was discovered completely on fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

About 20 minutes later, at 1:30 a. m., firefighters attended to another tow-truck fire near Dwellers Road and Fletcher’s Creek Boulevard. When crews arrived, the vehicle was still burning on the street, but nearby homes were unharmed.

Brampton fire crews responded to three different sites overnight after four tow trucks caught fire.

A third report came just minutes later, at 1:37 a. m., from Worthington Avenue and Bovaird Drive, where yet another tow truck was found engulfed in flames. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, and again, no injuries were noted.

Police have confirmed that all three fires are being treated as arson cases, with four tow trucks damaged across these events.

“We can’t confirm if they’re connected or not,” said PRP Constable Manny Khatra. “There could have been one or more suspects involved in this.”

The City of Brampton has stated that the Ontario Fire Marshal (OFM) has been informed about the incidents.

Detectives plan to canvas the affected neighborhoods and check surveillance footage as part of their ongoing investigation.

Firefighters were initially dispatched to 7 Cassinway Road, close to Airport Road and Countryside Drive, after reports of two burning tow trucks. Keep it Factual
