OPP reports that officers carried out a search warrant at a residence as part of a lengthy drug investigation throughout Simcoe County; weapons, magic mushrooms, and ecstasy were confiscated.
Two residents from Innisfil are facing several charges after an extensive drug-trafficking inquiry led by the Ontario Provincial Police across Simcoe County.
According to police, members of the Nottawasaga OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), along with support from the Collingwood and Huronia West CSCUs and the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, executed a search warrant at an Innisfil home on May 21. Two individuals were taken into custody without any issues.
Law enforcement officials seized a 9mm handgun with two magazines, two replica firearms, 22 grams of psilocybin (magic mushrooms), 7.5 grams of MDMA (ecstasy), a butterfly knife, $1,215 in cash, and a mobile phone.
Devyn Delorme, 31 years old, from Innisfil has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance for trafficking purposes, possession of a Schedule 3 substance, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of prohibited devices or ammunition, possession of proceeds from crime over $5,000, careless storage of firearms or ammunition, possession contrary to prohibition order regarding firearms or ammunition, possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm and three counts for failing to comply with release orders.
Tabytha Gisitsch, also 31 years old and from Innisfil has been charged similarly with possession for trafficking purposes regarding a Schedule 1 substance as well as other related offenses including unauthorized weapon possession and having a loaded firearm.
All allegations remain untested in court.
Delorme is being held pending bail hearing while Gisitsch has been released but is expected to appear in court later in Bradford.
Authorities state that this investigation continues to be part of the OPP’s efforts to tackle illegal drug trafficking within communities across Ontario.
