Toronto Police have initiated a homicide investigation following the discovery of a body shortly after midnight in Pickering.

The remains were located early Friday morning inside a suitcase near Whites Road and Highway 401, as reported by sources from . The case has now been handed over to the homicide unit.

No further information has been shared regarding the identity of the deceased or the reasons why Toronto Police took charge of the investigation.
