Toronto, Ontario–(Newsfile Corp. – May 20, 2026) – Happy Belly Food Group Inc. HBFG (OTCQB: HBFGF) (“Happy Belly” or the “Company”), a top player in bringing together emerging restaurant brands, is excited to share that our multi-unit franchisee David Lamph has locked down his 9th Heal location, situated in the City of Waterloo, Ontario. This new spot helps advance Heal’s smart, asset-light growth plan as the brand keeps expanding throughout Ontario’s bustling urban and suburban areas. Heal Wellness is a rapidly growing quick-service restaurant (“QSR”) brand that focuses on fresh smoothie bowls, açaí bowls, and smoothies, all centered around clean ingredients and a healthier lifestyle.

“The opening of our latest location in the City of Waterloo highlights our ongoing commitment to grow Heal in vibrant communities with favorable demographics and high foot traffic,” said Sean Black, Chief Executive Officer of Happy Belly Food Group. “Located between the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, this site places Heal Wellness right at the core of one of Canada’s most appealing student markets, providing access to a dense community of students, faculty members, staff, and young professionals.”

With over 41,000 full- and part-time students at the University of Waterloo and more than 17,500 undergraduate and graduate students at Laurier’s Waterloo campus, Heal Wellness will be nearby approximately 58,500 students within the immediate university area. This demographic aligns perfectly with what Heal Wellness offers since today’s students are increasingly looking for quick, healthy food choices that can fit into their busy lives. Our menu featuring açai bowls, smoothies with protein add-ons, fresh fruit options, and wellness-focused items is designed to meet those needs.

Heal Wellness is gaining traction as more people show interest in wellness-focused QSR concepts across major Canadian cities. With a scalable format that has strong unit economics and an ever-growing network of experienced franchise partners, Heal is well set to strengthen its presence across Ontario while also venturing into other Canadian and U. S. markets.

With 39 locations already open and over 169 more in development stages; Heal adds value to Happy Belly’s broader portfolio which includes 686 contractually committed retail franchise locations spanning multiple emerging brands at different phases from development to operation. Our reliable growth strategy keeps delivering results as we extend our brands across Canada and the U. S., creating long-term benefits for our shareholders.”

“We’re just getting started,” said Sean Black.
