Frederick Joseph Squires passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2026, with his loving wife Dolores by his side, at the age of 72. Fred faced life with quiet strength, kindness, and a gentle spirit that never went unnoticed.

Fred and Dolores (nee Pittman) shared a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. He was a caring and proud father to Neil and Mark Squires, as well as a loving stepfather to Tamara Runco (Tony), Trevor Dobbs, and Catherine Lounsbury (Cory). He took great joy in being a grandfather to 6 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Fred was a dear brother to Catherine (late Victor), Rosalind, Tina (Glen), Beverley (Guy), and the late Judy (Max), along with Richard (Cathy) and Frances (Sandra). He was also a treasured brother-in-law to Dorothy (Jim), Jacqueline, Angus (Peggy), Joanne (Martin), Sandra, the late Christopher (Debbie), Philip, and Raedarlene (Ramel). His parents Frederick and Mary Squires have predeceased him as well as his parents-in-law Angus Pittman, Rae Catherine Pittman/Lavoie, and Armel Lavoie. Fred will be fondly remembered by many cousins, nieces, and nephews who each held a special place in his heart.

Anyone who knew Fred understood his passion for motorcycles. In 2008, he proudly quit smoking so he could fulfill his dream of owning one; this showed his determination. He loved music, dancing, traveling on cruises, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. Fred truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures alongside those he cared about.

A dedicated worker known for taking pride in his career. Fred was a heavy equipment operator and spent over 30 years as an active member of IUOE Local 793. He appreciated the camaraderie from those he worked with throughout the years. He dedicated 23 years to Mar King Construction before retiring from Coco Paving after an additional 7 years.

Fred was someone everyone admired and respected. He never spoke ill of anyone; instead his kindness, fairness, and gentle nature left lasting impressions on all who crossed paths with him. People will always remember him as a good soul and true gentleman.

Visitation will take place on Fred’s 73rd birthday at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Banwell Location located at 11677 Tecumseh Rd., Windsor (519‑253‑7235) on Wednesday April 22nd ,2026 from 5:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 7:00 p. m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Windsor Regional Cancer Centre.
