Trudy Reynolds, 74, of Orillia, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly on May 12, 2026 at Soldier’s Memorial Hospital.
She was born on October 18, 1952, in Koblenz, Germany, to Sophia and Ernest Sauer. The family moved to Toronto, Canada in 1959.
Trudy leaves behind her loving husband, Larry Reynolds; daughter Bridget Forshaw; son Christopher Reynolds; daughter-in-law Lesley Reynolds; and her cherished grandchildren Olivia and Grace Legros. She will also be fondly remembered by her brothers-in-law Randy Reynolds and Gord Reynolds, as well as her nephews and nieces Derek Reynolds, Cheryl Pilieci, Peter and Paul Sauer, and Kim Oleszczyk.
Her friends and family will deeply miss Trudy’s cheerful attitude, vibrant personality, sunny outlook on life and warm smile. She always shared her time generously and would help a friend in need without hesitation. Trudy had a passion for animals, especially dogs. During her time as a dog groomer she formed strong bonds with many of her clients who became dear friends.
The family kindly asks that instead of flowers, donations be made in Trudy’s memory to the Jean Tweed Centre by calling 416-255-7359 ext 278 to make a “Tribute gift” in Trudy’s name or by sending a donation directly to [email protected] with the message “Trudy Reynolds” for contributions toward the next senior Schnauzer they take in. It would truly make her happy knowing that out of tragedy she could help save a homeless Schnauzer!

Our Mission: Most of the senior dogs we care for come from shelters where they face higher risks of euthanasia due to age or medical conditions. We occasionally accept owner surrenders when guardians can no longer care for their senior dog because of health issues passing away or other circumstances. We are fully not-for-profit rescue.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Trudy’s life will be held on Sunday May 31, 2026 from 1-4 P. M., with sharing memories starting at 2:30 P. M. at Carson Funeral Homes located at 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595.
