CONWAY, David George sadly passed away from cardiac arrest at his home in Collingwood on Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the age of 76. Most people knew him as Dave. He grew up in Toronto and Winnipeg, attended the University of Manitoba, and had a successful career as an entrepreneur and real estate developer. While Collingwood was a weekend getaway for many years, it became the permanent home for Dave and his family in the mid-90s. Whether he was skiing down the slopes, golfing on the greens, or enjoying dinners with friends filled with Sinatra music and great conversation, Dave made sure to savor every moment.
As a devoted father and husband, he will always be loved and greatly missed by his wife Judy, son Damon (Jenna) Conway, daughter Chelsea Conway (Hugh O’Connell), and grandson Hudson. Born to parents the late George & Myrtle Conway, David is also survived by his brother Paul (Christine). His genuine character and love for life will be fondly remembered by cousins, nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Visitation will take place at Fawcett Funeral Home, 82 Pine St., Collingwood on Wednesday January 17, 2018 from 2:00 p. m. to 4:00 p. m. and again from 7:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Thursday January 18, 2018 at Blue Mountain Golf & Country Club located at 706 Tenth Line in Collingwood from 2:00 p. m. to 5:00 p. m., with remembrances starting at 3:00 p. m.
