Police report that searches at several schools in Oakville revealed no signs of explosives.

This morning (May 7), nine schools in the area received bomb threats through electronic messages.

“Over the course of the next few hours, officers attended and completed thorough searches of all affected schools,” said Halton Regional Police. “No devices or credible evidence were located to suggest a threat to the safety of faculty, students or the public. Schools have resumed normal operations.”

According to police, their investigation found that a generic e-mail was sent to members of all school boards, naming the following schools as targets:

Halton District School Board:

Oakville Trafalgar HS          Iroquois Ridge HS          Abby Park HS          White Oaks Secondary          Garth Webb Secondary

Halton Catholic District School Board:

Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary          St Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary          St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary

Private School

         Appleby College

Police mentioned that the inquiry into these threats is ongoing and encourage anyone with information to contact the District Criminal Investigations Bureau at 905-825-4777 ext. 2216 or reach out to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or online at www. haltoncrimestoppers. ca.
