Police report that searches at several schools in Oakville revealed no signs of explosives.
This morning (May 7), nine schools in the area received bomb threats through electronic messages.
“Over the course of the next few hours, officers attended and completed thorough searches of all affected schools,” said Halton Regional Police. “No devices or credible evidence were located to suggest a threat to the safety of faculty, students or the public. Schools have resumed normal operations.”
According to police, their investigation found that a generic e-mail was sent to members of all school boards, naming the following schools as targets:
Halton District School Board:
Oakville Trafalgar HS Iroquois Ridge HS Abby Park HS White Oaks Secondary Garth Webb Secondary
Halton Catholic District School Board:
Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary St Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Secondary St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary
Private School
Appleby College
