A busy road in north-east Oshawa will be closed to traffic on Wednesday while crews work on an emergency water valve replacement.
Wilson Road, from Attersley Drive to Terrace Drive, was shut down at 8:30 a. m. and is expected to stay closed until 7 p. m.
Residents and businesses nearby might face temporary interruptions to their water service or experience lower water pressure during the repairs. Once the water service resumes, the Region of Durham advises customers to “turn on a cold water tap only and let it run for approximately five to 10 minutes to clean out any sediment that may have accumulated in your water service.”
This step will help prevent any sediment from entering the hot water system.
The announcement recognized that this work will be “disruptive” and assured that they aim to finish as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are encouraged to be cautious for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and the workers involved.
