The Ontario Provincial Police have found a chop shop just north of Peterborough where they discovered more than a dozen stolen vehicles that had been taken apart.
Peterborough County OPP started an investigation after getting a tip on January 29 about a stolen vehicle possibly being located at a business property in Buckhorn, a hamlet located 30 km north of Peterborough.
When officers arrived at the property, they learned that an attached unit was being rented out.
The following day, officers executed a search warrant on the rented section and found several newer-model stolen vehicles that had been dismantled, cut into pieces, and wrapped for transport.

The police confiscated parts from at least 13 stolen cars, along with a forklift, various tools, and other items believed to belong to victims of car thefts.

Several license plates from previously stolen cars were also found at the site, according to OPP on Tuesday.

A 41-year-old man from Toronto has been charged with possession of property obtained through crime exceeding $5,000.
