The U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) has reported a 2.9-magnitude earthquake that hit seven kilometres southeast of Amherstburg, Ont., on Sunday morning.
According to USGS, the quake took place at 10:32 a. m. and was located 2.1 kilometres underground.
People are sharing reports of the tremors felt across parts of Essex County on social media.
Residents in Essex have mentioned feeling the shakes in areas like Amherstburg, Mc Gregor, Harrow, and West Windsor.
In an emailed statement, Earthquakes Canada confirmed that the quake occurred 31 kilometres from Windsor.
