The family of Lenore Ritchie Gaudreault is heartbroken to share that she passed away after a long illness, with her husband Marc-Andre by her side on Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Lenore was born in Port Arthur, Ontario, on January 11, 1951. She spent her entire life in Thunder Bay. Many may remember her friendly smile from her years at the Waverley, where she once worked alongside two of her sisters, Linda and Leah, as well as at Prosvita and other places.

She took immense pride in her large family and adored all her nieces and nephews scattered across the country. A heartfelt shout-out goes to her dear friends Lillian Calder, Aileen Mc Cloud, and Susan Kajmowicz who made it a point to visit and check in when Lenore’s health began to decline. Those calls, texts, and visits brought so much light into her days.

Surviving Lenore are her devoted husband Marc-Andre (Marco), nephews Michael (Jenni), great-nephews Reese and Rory Ritchie, brother-in-law Rick Dumas, nephew Jake (Ty), great-nephew Gabriel, great-niece Sophia and Zachary along with niece Katarina.

Kevin Halverson (Susan), Emily, Eric, Evan; great-nephew Clifford. Ralph Halverson (Mary) Tyler, Erika and Dayna; great-niece Emma.

Lenore is also survived by nieces and nephews residing in Alberta: Don Halverson (Janice), Brody, Kourtney; great-nephew Ethan; and great-niece Ayla.

She was predeceased by sisters Donna, Leah and Linda; brother Kirk; along with parents Orville and Mary Ritchie.

Friends are welcome to join the family on Saturday May 16th, 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5 located at 229 Van Norman St., to honor this remarkable woman’s life.

Cremation has already taken place with a private ceremony planned for family members. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
