On Dec. 26, locals can check out all major shopping malls (Toronto Premium Outlets, Oakville Place, Mapleview Mall, Milton Mall, Burlington Shopping Centre, etc.), grocery stores, retail shops, most cafes, restaurants and bars (it’s a good idea to call ahead), selected Beer Stores (2025 Guelph Line and 5051 New Street in Burlington, 1071 Maple Avenue in Milton and 290 Hays Boulevard in Oakville), local parks and outdoor recreational spots, certain Wine Rack locations, Conservation Halton parks and movie theatres.

All non-essential federal, provincial, regional and municipal offices will be shut down for the day. Banks, libraries, community centres, some indoor pools, arenas, seniors’ centres as well as the Mattamy National Cycling Centre will also be closed along with Canada Post (no mail pick-up or delivery).
Waste collection schedules may vary based on your location.
Oakville Transit and Burlington Transit will be running services while Milton Transit will not operate. GO Transit is set to follow a Saturday schedule.
Durham Region – Oshawa, Whitby, Pickering, Ajax, Clarington and other municipalities
Open:
This Boxing Day most major malls (Pickering Town Centre, Oshawa Town Centre etc.) will be open along with big grocery chains and various retailers. Most cafes and restaurants should also be open but it’s wise to call beforehand to check. Locals can visit drug stores and pharmacies too plus certain Beer Store locations (75 Kingston Road in Ajax; 195 King Street E. in Bowmanville; 1355 Kingston Road in Pickering; 3950 Brock St. N. in Whitby; 200 Ritson Road N. in Oshawa), many cannabis shops and breweries (make sure to confirm before you go).

All non-essential government offices at the federal level down to municipal ones will not be operating today alongside banks , Canada Post , community centres , libraries , and LCBO locations.
The GO Transit service will run on a Saturday schedule while DRT Pulse buses are expected to follow a limited holiday schedule.
Garbage pickup for regular waste as well as recycling collections will shift by one day; transfer stations won’t be open either.

This December 26th both major retailers and independent shops including Limeridge Mall will welcome customers along with most cafes , restaurants , bars (it’s best to call first) , drugstores , pharmacies , big grocery outlets , convenience stores , parks , trails , outdoor skating rinks plus select Beer Store spots (282 Parkdale Ave. N., 1111 Barton St. E., 150 Barton St. E., 673 Upper James Street , 959 Fennell Ave. E., & 75 Centennial Parkway N.). Many breweries are ready for business too so make sure you call them first just like select Wine Rack locations. Splitsville Entertainment & movie theatres are also available for fun!

The HSR buses run on a special holiday timetable offering limited service while GO Transit sticks to its Saturday schedule.

This Boxing Day you can find all major malls like Canada One, The Outlet Collection, The Pen Centre etc open. Other large retailers along with smaller shops too! Big grocery stores won’t close their doors either nor will selected Wine Rack & Beer Store outlets( Niagara Falls -6757 Lundy’s Lane ; St. Catharines -99 Dieppe Rd. -120 Welland Ave. ; Welland-390 Lincoln St. E). Many breweries & wineries await visitors so do ring them up before heading over just like cafes/restaurants/bars which remain operational. Drugstores/pharmacies/movie theatres + most tourist sites including Clifton Hill attractions stay accessible as well!

This December twenty-sixth several places across Toronto keep their doors open such as major shopping destinations(Eaton Centre, Yorkdale, Scarborough Town Centre, Sherway Gardens, etc.). Grocery chains plan on serving customers plus specific Beer Store/Wine Rack branches round up options available upon visiting different attractions we know of – Ripley’s Aquarium/AGO/ROM/Canada’s Wonderland(in Vaughan)/Casa Loma/Toronto Zoo/CNTower& others surely await visitors! Parks/trails stand welcoming too! Cafes/restaurants/bars typically provide food/service however calling ahead is recommended just incase something changed!
