This Monday, August 4, is Civic Holiday.

Here’s what you can expect to be open or closed during this long weekend in London.

Recreation

You’ll find a variety of free programs at community centres in London, including sports, science activities, and arts and crafts.

Public outdoor swimming pools will be open all around the city, along with recreational swimming available at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre. Neighborhood splash pads will also be operational.

Take a train ride or hop on a bouncy lily pad at Storybook Gardens in Springbank Park from 10 a. m. to 5:30 p. m.

The London Children’s Museum is welcoming visitors and offering an open studio in their Discovery Lab.

If you’re seeking some fun, both East Park and Boler Mountain will be open on Monday.

City-run golf courses will welcome golfers as well.

The Central Branch of the London Public Library will be closed for the holiday. Other library branches are open from Tuesday to Saturday.

Shopping, Drinks and Food

Rib Fest is taking place at Victoria Park with delicious food options, entertainment, and line dancing activities.

White Oaks Mall, CF Masonville Mall, and Westmount Shopping Centre will have reduced hours for the holiday but will be open for business.

Coven Garden Market will not be operating on this day.

Some liquor stores, beer outlets, and grocery shops might have altered hours or could be closed altogether. Be sure to check with your local store for details.

The Labatt Brewery Store will remain open as usual.

Transit

The London Transit system will operate on a holiday schedule. For current route times and schedules, visit realtime. londontransit. ca.

Banks and Government Services

Banks won’t be available on Civic Holiday.

All Canada Post offices will close their doors on Monday, August 4.

No City of London garbage collection is scheduled for Monday; waste pickup has been moved to Tuesday instead.
