The Kitchener Rangers have made it to the Western Conference Finals in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) playoffs after sweeping Saginaw and beating Sault Ste. Marie in five games.
Their next challenge is against the Windsor Spitfires.
The Spitfires are having a strong playoff run, staying unbeaten so far this postseason. They took down Guelph easily in round one and swept Flint in round two. This marks the second straight season that the Rangers aim to capture the Wayne Gretzky Trophy.
Last year, the Rangers faced a sweep by the London Knights in the Western Conference Finals, who later won the Memorial Cup.
This year’s series kicks off in Kitchener, with Games 1 and 2 set at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on Friday and Sunday.
<p Games 3 and 4 will take place in Windsor at the WFCU Centre on Monday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 29.
If needed, Games 5, 6, and 7 are scheduled for May 1, 3 and 4.
