Norfolk OPP uncover illegal weapons, drugs, and stolen items during Mc Dowell Road home search

A man from Simcoe, aged 29, is facing multiple charges following a search at a home on Mc Dowell Road on December 4.

According to provincial police, they seized stolen items, illegal weapons, replica guns, Canadian money, suspected illicit drugs, and drug paraphernalia during the operation. The total value of these items is estimated at around $15,000.
The individual has been charged with two counts of possessing a firearm or ammunition in violation of a prohibition order; two counts of having a dangerous weapon; two counts of possession of stolen property valued under $5,000; three counts related to possessing proceeds from crime under $5,000; two counts for trafficking purposes; two counts for trafficking stolen property; disobeying a court order; and failing to comply with a release order.

Police report that the accused remains in custody and is set to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on December 9.
The search was carried out by the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit along with members of the Haldimand-Norfolk Community Street Crimes Unit.

Police Investigate Explosion at Bayham Residence
The Ontario Provincial Police are looking into what they call a residential explosion in Bayham. This area is rural and located near Lake Erie, including Port Burwell and Vienna. Sandy Town Road will stay closed between Stewart Road and Maple Grove Line as officers investigate this “residential explosion,” according to an OPP social media post made shortly after 6 p. m.
