Police have arrested a suspect connected to a stabbing that took place in downtown Oshawa last month.
Durham Regional Police responded to Celina Street and Bruce Street at 10:40 p. m. on Feb. 26 after receiving reports of a victim who was stabbed following a verbal dispute with three suspects.
Exactly one month later, authorities found the individual believed to be involved in the stabbing, and he was taken into custody after a short chase on foot.
William Taylor Hayes, 24, from Oshawa faces charges including aggravated assault, aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon, and two counts of breaching probation.
At the time of the incident, Hayes was already under a weapons prohibition.
He has been held for a bail hearing.
