A popular restaurant chain known for its endless breadsticks is making a comeback in Ontario, with a new site opening at Vaughan Mills.
Olive Garden will be situated inside the shopping centre at 1 Bass Pro Mills Dr., taking over the previous Pickle Barrel location.
Last year, Recipe Restaurant Group International revealed it had acquired eight Olive Garden restaurants across Canada. The chain used to have locations in Ontario but closed them down in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Its remaining Canadian restaurants are located in Western Canada, including British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The Vaughan Mills restaurant is one of three spots announced as part of the brand’s return to Ontario, along with places in Westboro (Ottawa) and Ajax. The Vaughan and Ottawa locations are set to open this summer, while there’s no confirmed timeline for Ajax yet.
Expected menu items include Olive Garden classics like pasta dishes, soups and salads, featuring options such as Fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Alfredo, Lasagna Classico and various spaghetti dishes.
Signage is already up at Vaughan Mills, showing that the location is getting closer to opening its doors.
Recipe Restaurant Group International runs nearly 1,100 restaurants throughout Canada and internationally, with brands like Swiss Chalet, Harvey’s, Montana’s, Kelseys Original Roadhouse and The Pickle Barrel.
