Police north of Toronto have taken a man into custody after they claim two individuals were killed and dismembered.
Barrie police report that they launched an investigation earlier this year following a missing person complaint.
They state officers searched multiple sites, including a property in Huntsville, Ont., a home in North Simcoe County, and a wooded area in Barrie where a large homeless encampment exists.
A suspect who was first arrested in early August now faces new charges after police collected evidence that included human remains and spoke with witnesses connected to the two fatalities.
The victims have been identified as 45-year-old William (Blake) Robinson and 41-year-old David Cheesequay.
A 52-year-old man has been charged with several offenses including first- and second-degree murder along with two counts of indignity to a dead body.
This suspect also faces charges related to firearms, drug trafficking, and theft.
He remains detained and has a bail hearing set for Friday.
