With great sadness, we share the news of Nabil Abou-Akl’s passing. He left us on September 27, 2025, surrounded by his family in Windsor, Ontario, at the age of 64.

Nabil was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and spent his childhood between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia before moving to Canada in 1988. Here, he created a life filled with hard work, creativity, and a deep love for his family. He was the cherished son of the late Ibrahim and Nadia Abou-Akl.

He is survived by his children Romel (Rita), Heidi, William, Julia, and Arthur (Leslie), each carrying a piece of his spirit. As a proud Jiddo to Adrian, Layla, and Noah, they brought him immense joy in his later years. He took great pride in all that his children achieved.

Nabil will be fondly remembered by his siblings: Joe (Rose), Berta (Shahid †), and Tony (Lisa). His brother Roy preceded him in death. He also leaves behind nieces and nephews: Maher, Elie, Sandy, Patricia, Ashley, Alex, Gabriel, and Liam.

Nabil shared many significant years with his former spouse Danuta-the mother of his children-and true love. Many friends he met along the way will also remember him.

A creative individual with a keen eye for detail, Nabil worked for many years in flooring while running his own business. However, he found real happiness in collecting treasures and expressing himself through painting and art. He had a lifelong admiration for Westerns-both as films and as an attitude; he was a quiet man with an adventurous heart who valued independence and loved fiercely.

Despite facing challenges throughout his life, Nabil will be remembered for being one-of-a-kind-his creativity lives on through his children and grandchildren. We will miss him dearly but find comfort knowing that he rests peacefully with Christ now.

We appreciate all the kind words from everyone who valued having him around.

Family and friends are invited to gather at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home at Banwell Location-11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor (519-253-7235)-on Friday October 3rd 2025 for visitation starting at 9:00 a. m., followed by the Chapel Service at noon. Interment will take place afterward at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. If you wish to make memorial donations please consider contributing to the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.
