An 18-year-old man from Pickering is facing ten charges after police found him inside a stolen car during their search.
Durham Police were called to Arathorn Court and Melman Street in Pickering just before 5 a. m. on Tuesday after getting reports about a stolen vehicle in the vicinity. Officers managed to locate the car, blocked it in, and arrested the driver without any trouble.
Abdullah Lahir has been charged with several offenses, including motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen property (valued over $5,000), possession of an electronic device intended for auto theft, possession of burglary tools, and six counts of failing to comply with court orders.
He was taken into custody for a bail hearing.
