Event Logo Next year, some of the biggest names in curling will face off in Port Elgin at a unique event, and tickets are up for grabs this week. Team Rachel Homan and Team Brad Jacobs are set to compete against each other at the Plex in 2026. Dave Middleton, a member of the organizing committee, mentioned that the curling stars will be around for all three days. “No battle has happened in this country for any more than one game, but we’re doing three,” says Middleton. Doubles curling will take place on Friday evening, September 25th, 2026. Saturday evening, September 26th, 2026 features Skins Curling. The final match on Sunday afternoon, September 27th, 2026 is regular curling with some fun twists added in. This event is sponsored by Bruce Power and presented by Holiday Inn Express and Suites. The organizers say this three-day event is really two events combined into one. The first part is “The Battle” between Team Rachel Homan and Team Brad Jacobs.
Fans can purchase full event passes starting September 25th, 2025 for $129 plus applicable taxes and fees. Tickets will be available online only at www. portelgincurlingclub. com/thebattle. Currently, only full event tickets can be bought; single game tickets may be announced later if they become available. The second part is an exclusive adult curling camp. It’s limited to 80 campers aged over 19, giving curlers of all skill levels a chance to receive on-ice and off-ice instruction from top coaches in the country, including members from both Team Homan and Team Jacobs. Packages include access to the curling camp, passes for all Battle games, some meals included, and accommodation at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites right across from the Plex. Camp registrations can also be completed online starting September 25th, 2025 at www. portelgincurlingclub. com/thebattle. The goal is to help various curling clubs in Grey Bruce with fundraising efforts so that the sport can continue thriving in the area. For every one-week pass purchased credited to a local curling club, that club will benefit by $25 per ticket sold. Additionally, local clubs can sell sponsorships for the event which would entitle them to a portion of the overall profits generated by it.
