The Kingston Frontenacs defeated the Peterborough Petes 4-1 at Slush Puppie Place on Friday night.
Royden Smith made 30 saves on 31 shots, improving his record to 7-1-0-0 in his first OHL season. Earlier this week, NHL Central Scouting labeled Smith as a C prospect, indicating he could be a fourth or fifth-round selection in the upcoming 2027 entry draft.
“[The Central Scouting listing] was a feel-good moment, but it’s something to build on,” Smith said. “Really you have to just worry about how you play and not what people say or think. I’m trying not to overthink the game-to break it down to five-minute chunks, ten-minute chunks, a period at a time, a game at a time.”
