Medeiros stated that investigators are still collecting and securing evidence in what she describes as an intricate investigation but noted it’s too early to say exactly what occurred. Anyone who might have been driving in the area early Saturday or who may have surveillance or dashcam footage is encouraged to contact OPP.
Regarding seatbelt usage, Medeiros indicated that they’re looking into whether speed or seatbelt use played roles in this incident. However, she mentioned she did not believe there were enough seatbelts for all passengers in the vehicle.
