Southern Ontario is filled with dining options, but there’s always space for a few more.
This October 2026, Mississauga, Brampton, Oshawa, and Ajax welcomed exciting new restaurants serving everything from sandwiches and ramen to Afro-fusion cuisine and a popular Italian chain from the U. S.
Check out these five new places for local food lovers:
Vero Italian Sandwich Co. opens in Mississauga
A sandwich shop from Toronto known for its large Italian sandwiches and freshly baked bread has launched a new spot in Mississauga at one of the city’s busiest shopping centres.
Vero Italian Sandwich Co. is now open at Square One Shopping Centre, where it serves sandwiches made with imported Italian ingredients, specialty cheeses, cured meats, and bread created through a long fermentation process.
You can find this shop inside the food court of the mall.
Greelz On Main opens in Brampton

A Toronto eatery that modernizes Nigerian street food has opened a new branch in downtown Brampton. It brings suya-grilled meats, hearty rice bowls, and Afro-fusion burgers to enrich the local dining scene.
Greelz On Main recently opened at 27 Main Street North, extending its brand beyond locations in Bloor West Village and Kensington Market.
This restaurant focuses on elevated Nigerian street food by blending traditional West African flavors with familiar meals like burgers, wraps, and shawarma.
Butter Bar debuts in Mississauga

The first butter boutique in Canada has just opened up in Mississauga.
After months of preparation, Butter Bar officially opened at 1006 Lagoon St. in Port Credit with a grand opening celebration on Oct. 7.
“The ribbon has been cut, the doors are OPEN, and we’re officially welcoming you to Butter Bar! Canada’s first butter boutique,” said the boutique on Instagram. “Today marks the beginning of something we’ve dreamed about, worked toward, and poured our hearts into. From day one to this very moment, thank you to every single person who believed in us, supported us, worked alongside us, and helped bring Butter Bar to life.”
As suggested by its name, Butter Bar specializes in gourmet flavored butters.
Kinton Ramen launches in Oshawa

You can now enjoy authentic Japanese ramen in north Oshawa with KINTON Ramen’s recent opening on Simcoe Street right in the city’s University District.
Twelve years after launching its first restaurant in Toronto with their ‘Bowl of Happiness,’ KINTON Ramen is continuing its expansion eastward with their first location now open in Oshawa as of Saturday Oct. 24.
This spot is located at 1800 Simcoe St. N., selected for being close to Durham College and Ontario Tech University. KINTON Ramen started welcoming diners on Sept. 8 when the academic year began while spending several weeks soft-opening to introduce students faculty members and locals to their Japanese ramen experience.
Olive Garden makes a comeback by opening in Ajax

The beloved Olive Garden is back after being away for twenty-five years! Known for endless breadsticks and their ‘never-ending pasta bowl,’ they have returned to Durham Region.
The Italian-style restaurant franchise opened up at Durham Centre on Monday – marking it as Ontario’s third new restaurant since relaunching.
Olive Garden previously closed all Ontario locations during the late ’90s through early ‘2000s but is making its return following Recipe Restaurant Group International’s acquisition of eight Canadian locations out west along with an agreement made with U. S.-based Darden Restaurants back in 2025.
