Josh Morgan has made history as the first London mayor in two decades to be re-elected, securing 45% of the votes and defeating his main opponent Susan Stevenson by a large margin. LFP city hall reporter Jack Moulton reviews the campaign and highlights three major promises from Morgan.
CUTTING PROPERTY TAXES
During the election, one of Morgan’s main challenges was the tax increases that took place over the last four years, especially an 8.7 percent rise in 2024 and a 7.3 percent increase in 2025.
It was no surprise that he tried to address this issue right away, announcing at his campaign launch that he plans to limit tax increases during his next term “in the three percent range.”
