When he announced his bid for a fourth term as mayor in South Frontenac, Ron Vandewal promised that this would be his final campaign.
Following his win in Monday’s election, Vandewal stated that he wasn’t planning to change his mind, even though he mentioned that this year’s campaign felt smoother than the last.
A beef farmer and school-bus driver, Vandewal won against Alan Revill for the mayor’s position by a solid margin. With 3,879 votes, Vandewal received 52.1 percent of the ballots cast, surpassing Revill’s total of 2,411 votes. Steven Leonard came in third with 1,151 votes (15.5).
