The Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health is preparing to host a new lecture focused on rural healthcare.

This latest event in Gateway’s webinar series is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3 from noon to 1 p. m. on ZOOM. The theme is “Narratives of Rural Health Recruitment and Retention.” This session will highlight insights from the experiences of two early career healthcare professionals who have chosen to serve in rural areas.

Alli Meyer, Pharm D, is now the owner of the Goderich Town Square IDA Pharmacy. She grew up in Bruce County and came back to Midwestern Ontario after earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Waterloo’s School of Pharmacy in 2023.

Matt Mc Arthur, MD, was born and raised in Walkerton, Ontario and completed his training in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Mc Master University. He currently works primarily in Emergency Medicine in Guelph and Kitchener while also taking occasional ER shifts in Walkerton.

Everyone in the community is invited to join. To participate in this event and future presentations, register on the Gateway CERH website https://www. gatewayruralhealth. ca/lectureseries.
