The Gateway Centre of Excellence in Rural Health is preparing to host a lecture focused on rural healthcare.

This event, part of Gateway’s webinar series, is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3 from noon to 1 p. m. via ZOOM. The theme is “Narratives of Rural Health Recruitment and Retention.” This session will highlight insights from the experiences of two early career healthcare professionals who have opted to serve in rural areas.

Alli Meyer, Pharm D, has taken over ownership of the Goderich Town Square IDA Pharmacy. Growing up in Bruce County, she returned to Midwestern Ontario after earning her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Waterloo’s School of Pharmacy in 2023.

Matt Mc Arthur, MD, was born and raised in Walkerton, Ontario. He completed his training in Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine at Mc Master University. Currently, he practices Emergency Medicine mainly in Guelph and Kitchener while also working occasional ER shifts in Walkerton.

Community members are encouraged to attend. To join this event and future presentations, register on the Gateway CERH website https://www. gatewayruralhealth. ca/lectureseries.
