Two men from Mississauga are facing charges related to drug trafficking after border officials found 127 kilograms of cocaine in a commercial truck entering Canada at Windsor’s Ambassador Bridge.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) reported that the drugs were uncovered on September 11, when a commercial truck arriving from the United States was selected for a secondary inspection.

In a news release issued on Monday, the CBSA noted that officers utilized a detector dog to help find the cocaine hidden inside the truck’s trailer.

The CBSA took two men into custody, aged 61 and 41, both residents of Mississauga.

According to the CBSA, both men and the confiscated drugs were handed over to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Both individuals have been charged with importing cocaine and possession of cocaine for trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, as stated by the CBSA, adding that this case is currently being processed in Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor.

Working with our law enforcement partners, we are disrupting cross-border drug trafficking and protecting Canadian communities. Michael Prosia, CBSA’s regional director general, Southern Ontario

Michael Prosia, who serves as CBSA’s regional director general for southern Ontario, remarked in the release that this seizure emphasizes how vital border inspections are in stopping illegal drugs from reaching Canada.

“Their experience, attention to detail and use of technology helped stop a significant amount of cocaine from entering the country,” Prosia said.

“Working with our law enforcement partners, we are disrupting cross-border drug trafficking and protecting Canadian communities.”

This seizure is part of a much larger amount of cocaine intercepted at various border points throughout southern Ontario this year.

As per information from the CBSA, officers in Southern Ontario Region have already seized 1.67 tonnes of cocaine so far in 2026.
