The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two individuals linked to an ongoing investigation into a sudden death case in Simcoe.
On September 6, 2025, around 2 p. m., OPP received a report about an unresponsive individual at a residence on Queen Street North.
Authorities confirmed that the person was declared dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination revealed that the cause of death was due to a drug overdose.
On September 29, 2026, law enforcement took two suspects into custody as part of this investigation.
Hannah Brochu, aged 19 from Oxford County, and Thomas Macleod, aged 22 from Haldimand County, both face charges of trafficking a schedule I substance – opioid (other than heroin).

Brochu is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on December 22.
Macleod is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Simcoe on November 10.
