Five people were taken to the hospital following a crash over the weekend in Perth East.
Emergency services responded to an accident on Line 34 between Road 102 and Road 104, where two cars collided just after 11 p. m. on Saturday night.
The injuries sustained by all involved were non-life threatening, and the five individuals were transported to the hospital for care.
This section of road remained closed for several hours, reopening around 2 a. m. on Sunday.
The investigation into what caused the crash is ongoing.
This incident marked the second serious accident in midwestern Ontario during that weekend. On Friday evening, a 72-year-old man from Central Huron and his dog tragically lost their lives when they were hit by a vehicle while walking along Highway 4 in the Municipality of Bluewater.
