Ontario Provincial Police are looking into a fire that occurred at a house on Orchard Avenue in Simcoe on Monday afternoon, which resulted in the death of a 50-year-old found inside.
According to officers, emergency crews from Norfolk County responded to calls about the fire at around 1 p. m.
Firefighters managed to get into the home, where they discovered the 50-year-old individual.
Sadly, despite attempts to save them, the person was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police haven’t released any details about the person’s identity or what led to the fire.
The Norfolk County OPP plans to collaborate with the Office of the Fire Marshall and the Office of the Chief Coroner as their investigation continues.
