Two from Princeton among three fatalities in Oxford crash
Three individuals have lost their lives following a two-vehicle accident east of Tillsonburg, according to provincial police.
Emergency services arrived around 4 p. m. on Friday to the scene of the crash involving a pickup truck and an SUV on Mall Road between Oxford Road 13 and Middletown Line, as reported by Oxford County OPP.
The two passengers in the SUV, aged 60 and 77, both hailing from Princeton in Oxford County, were transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead, stated the OPP.
The driver of the vehicle, who is 75 years old, was airlifted to a London hospital but succumbed to injuries later on, according to police.
The OPP did not disclose the location of the SUV driver’s residence.
“Our thoughts are with the deceased family and loved ones at this time,” OPP Const. Matthew Foster mentioned in a video shared on social media.
Princeton is a small community located in Blandford-Blenheim within Oxford County.
The 27-year-old driver of the pickup was treated for injuries that were not deemed life-threatening, according to authorities.
Investigators closed off part of Mall Road for several hours. The road reopened by noon on Saturday.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, said police.
“Once we have more updates, we will provide them when available,” Foster remarked.

Stolen vehicles retrieved from river near Chatham
Police are seeking public assistance after three stolen vehicles were found in the Thames River west of Chatham.
After receiving reports that property had been discovered in the river, an increased police presence was observed along the Thames River near Poppe Road and Buchanan Line close to Tilbury.
The Chatham-Kent police collaborated with the OPP’s underwater search and recovery unit to recover three vehicles that had been reported stolen, according to officials.
